Portfolio
Victor Consulting have worked on a wide variety of projects for our clients. Those listed on
this page are just a sample to show the breadth of our expertise and how different processes
and technologies are married together to create a solution.
Website for Publishing Company
This website promotes high quality, limited edition books. This website was developed to
an outline graphical design provided by the client. The text was written in conjunction with
the client. Some photography by Victor Consulting. The site includes code to automatically
complete an order form as items are selected.
Website for Searching and Booking Meeting Rooms
This complex website is for booking short leads time meeting rooms throughout the UK. It is
driven by a MySQL 5 database and has two main parts. Firstly a registration process for venues
giving them the ability to upload and maintain information about their venues, meeting rooms
and meeting room availability. Secondly a search mechanism to enable bookers to choose meeting
rooms and provisionally book them with the venue. The website was graphically designed and
written by Victor Consulting Limited.
HR System
The HR system is a SQL Server database application created for one of the UK’s leading
architectural practices. Key to this project was a needs analysis to determine exactly
what HR data needed to be stored to provide data for a series of complex reports used
both for general company management and in the job tendering process. The front end is
written as a Microsoft Access application linking to the back-end SQL Server database.
Microsoft Outlook Calendars
This project involved working with the client to identify the business problem – booking
meetings, and defining a corporate standard for adding appointments to the calendar,
sharing of calendars across the organisation and booking meetings.
Relocation Mapping Analysis
This analysis was a one of project taking personnel data from an Access database and
plotting it on a map with different symbols to represent seniority, business unit and
existing office. The deliverable was a series of map images to be included in a report.
Out-Worker Project Management
This project involved working with the client to decide how to project manage the production
of interior furnishings produced by a large workforce of remote home-workers to tight deadlines.
The solution was to use Microsoft project and great thought was given to the granularity of
task definition and complex working patterns.
